John & Melanie Hinson
Lead Pastor/Elder (John)
THRIVE Kids Leader (Melanie)
John welcomed Jesus as his Savior in a small country church in King George, Va when he was 11 years old. While attending college at Virginia Tech, he met Melanie and was married shortly thereafter. It was there where he first recognized God’s call on his life for full time ministry. In addition to traveling a number of years with a music ministry, he has served on staff at Calvary Chapel Fredericksburg for 17 years, as elder, worship leader, youth pastor, and an assistant pastor. John is a (much too) avid fan of the Andy Griffith Show and loves watermelon, any musical instrument he can get his hands on, spending time with his 5 boys, and connecting with people (not necessarily in that order).
Melanie entered into an intimate relationship with the Lover of her soul when she was 18, enjoys having been married to John longer than she hasn’t been, didn’t know being a mama of boys would be so much fun, and is the ‘Queen of her castle’. In her free time (which is slim), she likes to read, run, rest in her rocker, and swing dance.

Kevin and Mandy McClelland
Elder (Kevin)
Connect Team
Kevin loves being married to Mandy and is the father of seven great kids! He’s a native Virginian who has lived in the same 50 mile radius his entire life, from Northern Virginia to Fredericksburg and now King George. He was led to the Lord by his future father in law during his second year at college. He’s an avid sports fan who roots strongly for all Washington area pro teams. (Did we mention he’s an avid sports fan who roots strongly for the local sports teams?!) He loves seeing people connect with one another and grow in their relationship with the Lord!
In a 2nd grade Sunday school class, Mandy asked Jesus to be her Savior and what an adventure she has been on since! It was during her 11th hour of 12 army moves in her first 18 years that she met Kevin, her husband. High school sweethearts with a rocky start, the Lord met them and rescued them in college and planted a love for His Word and people in their hearts. Now married for 22 years with 7 children, Mandy’s favorite verse is, as it has always been, Hebrews 13:5 “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” She relished the opportunity to lead the Women’s Ministry of Calvary Chapel Fredericksburg where she had a front-row seat to God’s work in the lives of His daughters. These days, when not homeschooling or going to children’s doctor’s appointments, she tries to squeeze in a good book, a family game and a visit to her bees.

ERIC & Britt Powell
Elder (Eric)
Eric met his Savior, Jesus Christ, at a young age due to his parent's faithful teaching and guidance. He met Britt while attending the same high school. What initially started off as a great friendship soon blossomed into a loving relationship and later marriage. It was in high school where Eric felt the call to ministry while attending the youth group in the church he grew up in. He ministered, preached, and led bible studies for the youth till college. He went to the University of Maryland where he served in CRU as an event coordinator for several years. After marriage Eric and Britt were led to King George due to a job opportunity. It was there when God led them to visit THRIVE Christian fellowship on its first day of service as a church plant. It has been their home ever since. Eric is an avid reader, and enjoys book recommendations. Eric and Britt love hiking with their dog, Boh, and have just welcomed a beautiful girl, Madeline, into their lives.
Britt was saved at a young age and has enjoyed growing in the Lord through the years. She moved from northern Maryland to Virginia 5 years ago with her husband. She has recently become a mom and loves spending time with her baby girl, Madeline. Britt also enjoys hiking, painting, hunting for shark's teeth, and bike riding.

Brian & Megan Stone
Mobile Team Leader (Brian)
Administrative Assistant (Megan)
After pursuing worldly pleasures and finding that they fall short of any true joy, Brian came to know the Lord in a real and supernatural way and hasn’t looked back since. Brian enjoys fishing, the beach, and collecting rare “junk”.
Megan grew up in church and accepted Jesus at a young age, but has really experienced a deeper walk with the Lord in the past ten years. She spends her days homeschooling their four kids, helping the church with admin tasks, and trying to answer the daily question, "What's for dinner?". She also loves the beach and bargain hunting.
